Can anyone reccomend me a TMIC?? the ARC ones are now discontinued, and i wanna keep my nice front bumper in one piece instead of hacking away for a FMIC

Why not go for a radtech fmic, you get an alloy rad with it and the intercooler sits where your standard rad sits with the new rad mounted on the intercooler.
Short pipe run aswell.
Pace also do one similar.

you can fit a front mount without hacking your bumper to bits if you buy one of the good ones i.e not cheep £200 e-bay ones

yes ARC don't make top mounts for the R anymore you will have to get a 2nd hand one if you want one

What kind of bhp are you going to? I've always run top mount and never had any problems...

With your standard turbo you make more power at less boost than I do with a FMIC; that was proven at the RR day. On that basis, I'd agree that there's nothing wrong with the standard TMIC unless you're chasing big power.

Yeah only looking at around 260-300hp so not massive tuning.
I think I'll try n get a ARC tmic.
I am sure I read the topmount can help cause HG failure?
Whytie I'll drop you a pm next week n see if you still have it mate.

no point wasting your money on a ARC if your only planing for 300BHP Standard top mount will handle that no problem

ARC is less restrictive than the oe tmic and has a thicker core, its as worth while as a better tubby elbow,My car did'nt suffer any lag or heat soak

though neither does a standard top mount.only ever had heat soak once and was after driving to edinburgh about 2001 was red hot outside and had drove flat out most of the way there.then got stuck in a 20 min traffic jam

the pace front mount is a very good option if you want a front mount and dont want to cut anything

maybe not for pipe run and less weight because of it maybe.but a front mount doesnt really increase lag or not that ive noticed anyway(well a good one anyway not some of the ones that some use with miles of pipe work)

Heat soak is rubbish when you are moving.

300bhp with a standard TMIC is perfectly fine, flow is excellent and cooling is spot on.

Waste of money buying an ARC if your not going to go over 300bhp

...as for HG failure for having a top mount...utter horse sh*t

Great thread! Cheers for that everyone, couldn't have asked for better replys.

And yeah as for the HG failure rumour I was told, I thought it was BS and all!

Front mount!! Means when it comes to mapping (if you ever do that) you can keep sensible values in the table and not have to make up for worse case horrific intake temps... :)
