Problems?

I removed my SAFC last night.
Went to move the car today and started for about 5 seconds then then rev counter stopped then the engine stopped, went to start it and no dash lights at all. the engine will still turn over and start for a few seconds then stop as my second fuel pump is not working too?

Think i might have a broken wire or a fuse has gone?
Looking at the ecu, think it is pin 47? should there be an orange wire in there? ign wire? on the bottom row RH side 2nd from the right. i found a orange wire but it is to short for there and there is no wire connector in the ecu for it?

Any other ideas? Why would none of my dash lights be on but the car will still turn over?

Cheers

SORTED

Checked my fuses with a meter and the very first fuse was fused but looked ok!!! Top left hand 10 amp fuse!!

Not sure what the fuse is for but the car needs it!!

Bloody cars!!

When I had a ford sierra virtually everytime it rained I would have to replace a fuse of some sort

Blown fuse

My car is still doing the same

It keeps blowing the top left 10amp fuse in the car.

It all started about 5 weeks a go when i was removing my SAFC that had all the wires removed about 4 mth a go so all i did was remove it.

Then went to start the car and no dash lights or fuel pump.

I can put in a new fuse and turn the ignition on and everything works, then i start the car and about 10 seconds the fuse will blow? I have my dash in bits trying to trace the wires etc and all seam fine.

Tried a other fuse, turned on the ignition and gave all the wires a good shake, still fine, started the car and about 10 seconds and the fuse goes again, the engine still runs until it runs out of fuel (no fuel pump)

The car is not moving when this is happening.

This fuse connects up to so much, might look at the fuel relay and fuel pump in tank next.

Any ideas are welcome

have you checked the battery and alternator looms?
my mate's R used to not start or do anything once in a while but would be fine other times. turned out to be a broken wire on the battery connection loom. it was a 5 min fix but about a 6 month problem.

get the multimeter out and continuity test from the fuse location first. it must be shorting and it just takes 10s to blow the fuse. jsut work you way up the loom in both directions testing as you go. don't miss any sections and also check for earthing of the positives.

good luck!
