will two different turbos set at 1.2 bar produce the same result?

You can't just throw a 2871R at your car and expect it to make 375bhp without supporting mods. If I was you the first thing I'd get would be a 3 inch exhaust system, forget about a new turbo and you'll find that on the standard set-up you should make 320-330bhp once it's properly mapped. I can't emphasise just how much of a difference my 3 inch system made, the low down torque is brilliant and the boost comes on so much quicker. I genuinely think that after the brakes and tyres the exhaust mod should be the next on the list for any modifying, that way you've already got a base should you want to pursue more power in the future and it'll greatly increase the desirability of the car if you come to sell. I think Pipeworx is up in your neck of the woods and they're very highly rated by people here. It's a false economy to cut corners with an R, I've learnt that the hard way. Always buy the best you can afford and use items that add to the car not just make it faster/more powerful. It's been said before and I've no doubt it'll be said again, a well set up R running 320-330 bhp on a virtually standard set up that breathes well will feel considerably better than a badly set up cobbled together car running 350+ and while more expensive in the short term will give you so much more reward in the long run.

Just my 2 cents worth!
I understand what your saying, i wouldnt expect to just throw on a turbo and get high power. I was hoping to get it all done in one remap thats all as Edd is miles away. I would fit the following.

Uprated radiator
Z32Maf fitted at remap
600CC injectors fitted at remap
2871R Turbo
uprated Turbo Elbow
Cold Air Intake
Fusion Remap

I already have a
de catted mongoose exhaust, i assume its 2.5'
Forge Front Mount intercooler
Helix organic clutch
Lightened Flywheel, Norris Designs
13 row oil cooler
4 pot hispec Brakes
BC Coilovers

You'll get away with the turbo, but let Ed fit the Z32 and injectors as the car won't run very well if at all without a remap and those 2 fitted.

I'll add my 2cents to Mark's 2cents and make it 4 cents as I agree with everything he's said. To get my car from 377hp at 1.8bar to circa 450hp at 1.9bar was a lot of details I sorted over 12 months.

When I mapped a friends car I spent 90% of my time fixing problems and had to stop as 1.4bar as his boost controller was playing up.

Looking at your other thread for more torque, bin your 2.5" mongoose, visit pipewerx and fit a full 3" system. Fit your Dawes device, fit an AFR gauge and set it to 1.2bar. Safe with more power, torque and response.

Campbellju - what turbo was that on?Another way around fitting the parts, not sure if edd would do it. But you could send him your ecu to have nistune daughter board fitted with a base map for your spec. Then you could safely fit all your parts and drive down to him to get the map finished off.

50/50

It was a 3071 .63ar turbo. Original map was by a tuner with very conservative fuelling and ignition. Main change was the 3" system. Lots of details in tracking down small air leaks, timing cams, turbo wastegate, uprating ignition then lots and lots of mapping.
