datascan problem

Need a bit help with datascan, can't seem to get it to connect to ecu. Wheb I open it up and click connect it saysinvalid port, so if I go into communications and change com port to 3 and search it takes about 2 minutes but eventually finds it. Once it had found ecu it still won't connect to it. Any ideas?

I had a similar problem i think i solved it by trying other usb ports it did work in the end .

what hardware you using?

maybe check in the device manager, the usb device is maybe in error (with à yellow "?" )
then also check if all the connection parameter are good in the windows device manager.
like port, speed etc...

what hardware you using?

its the blatz cable, i got the software with it, version 1.49 i think, but i downloaded the 1.54 from the blatz site though and was trying to use the 1.54.

what os you're running ? winxp, vista, win 7 ?

got it working, not worth having without the serial code. can only view speedo and rev counter.

got an activation code etc, it says it is now activated but i still only have 'data replay' and 'log analyser' available.

When the laptop is not connected to the ECU, It will only shows "Data Replay", "Log Analyser" and "NDS Activation" and the other buttons will be greyed out.

Is yours doing it when you are properly connected to the ECU ?

ah right, not sure, i just activated it last night so havent had a chance to try it on the car yet. cheers
