I thought switchable daughterboard but not sure how to switch maps. Forgot to say it's a intec ecu.

You will need a switch with at least 4 positions on it. Attach the wires so it runs and then work out in which position the maps change. Keep playing with it until you find the map for : standard = 1, 14.5psi = 2, 18psi =3 and so on. Keep an eye on your boost gauge, this will help with the boost levels.

It is possible you have only 2 map settings, standard and higher boost so that should be simple.

The switch you need is just like the switch on your heater controller, Off, 1 2 3 4.

If its like mine (Field Access ECU) it has 3 wires coming out of the ECU to connect a switch to change between two maps. One wire would be the common while the other two are for each map.

As trip says.

Those are two 8bit eproms that work as a single 16 as far as the ecu is concerned. They can store more data than the ECU needs so one half of them will be for one map and the other half for another.

BTW splmum, you dont need multiple map for different levels of boost. You just map the single map for as much boost as your ever going to want then you can use a boost controller to decide what boost you want.

Only time you need more than one map is for different fuels or other things like launch control etc.

How would be the best way to wire it to a switch or to find out which wire is for what.

I've got a mines ecu so would like to compare this to that.

You would need to find the 1 common wire. The other 2 wires will come by elimination.

I would suggest you first start by checking each to ground and if that does not yield an odd one out, try checking for any 5V or 12v source from them.

On a side note: Ed, did you get my PM ?

Damn, I thought that was what I was suggesting earlier, must have been half asleep and got confused, oh well, he will work it out, eventually.

you could also have a microswitch on the throttle to switch maps for noz, or a map for 3500 rpm limit valet mode ;)

I've read up the White wire is the common ground and the other two must switch the maps. I only bought the ecu to compare as so far I've used blitz, mines, an eprom chip, a gizmo ecu and soon this one.
