Wideband with a front exit

Alright guys just a quick question,

Has anyone any idea how I could fit my inovate wideband to my front exit, would some sort of heatsink around the sensor will allow it to be located so near the turbo, im talking max 6" or so away as its literaly elbow and then a little box :(

or will it be just easier to get a full system?

The standard sensor fits in the elbow less than 6" away cant see why you would have a problem just be careful ow the wirring routes and protect the harness with some heat proof tape.

Tom you could just put an bung extender and that's just about it (just put it as far away as posible from the turbo).
You should put it away from the turbo because wide band sensors are not resistant to dorect flame or high and cotinuous heat.
I can make you one but it will take around 5 days for the extender to arrive at you:p
Anyways I have seen turbocharged motorcycles that had an exhaust about 7'' inches long and didn't had any issues with the wide band

It's not really necessary to make it out of copper.
Innovate sells a heat sink elongated bung made out from stainless steel.....but why to pay alot for a small item like that?

By the way....that maf which I sent you works well for you?

that would be brilliant if you could make one like the one inovate sell, I was also thinking of putting the copper heat sink they discribe too

the maf works well mate its on the car now and doing its job thanks again :)

ah yer I did see there "how to" on making one so think I will go and do that aswell as maybe the one they sell to extend it out.

Such bung's will give you incorrect reading (leaner). I used such bung on my Honda to fool the ECU that i still have the CAT in place. 02 sensors should be placed in direct flow.

Just place it as far away as possible, and don't bother. When it breaks, replace it :)

$89 the robbing fecks.DIY time shroom.Even just a square of copper in between the bung and sensor will radiate a lot of heat out.

Trip I think that this one is for narrow band sensors.
The Volswagen and Audi guys are using something similar to trick the sensor when the catalyst is removed (so they don't get an error)

Tom if you want to I can make one exactly like the innovate one.
But.....until then you can put as far away as possible from the turbo.

A heat sink stainless steel one will be around 15 gbp shipped.
