what is this

I bought my r yesterday and its my third one however i have never seen this before what is it that is connected to the turbo and the intercooler the big silver thing with the little blue hose blanked of and the pipe is none standard aswell

It looks like a blow off valve not being used.

oh right cause it has a baileys dumpvalve fitted aswell i did think that i didnt realise you could mount them there though just me being stupid lol

I'd swap the whole pipe for the original, it looks a mess and is nowhere near as smooth as the OE one.

Edited to add:Its also answered the question I had in my head about what the extra electrical connector was doing over the gearbox-I now know its from the OE boost solenoid.

yeh i thought it looked a mess too but i cant find a standard pipe at the mo so if anyone has one let me know

No, that's a bit steep given that most people probably threw them away when they put a FMIC in.

like to know if it worked on the running of yr R and got rid of the 34 code......?

Nope, hasn't arrived yet. They say they've sent it, but the post takes an extra day to get delivered in Wales; I don't know why. - Maybe tomorrow (although it's now cold and wet, so I won't want to be under the car).
