pulsar log book info please

hi

just went to my local car parts store (in france) with my dvla logbook.

they cant trace the chassis number being an import (being 11 numbers/letters) i allready knew that but he then asked for engine number...

on the log book it has sr20-103854A they put that in the computer and it came back as a 1.8 gti (engine) ?? when the car is the gtir 2.0 16v turbo one???

can any body help me out or look at there engine number on there dvla logbook and tell me what they find for the engine number? ( whether its the same sort of numbers or different)

thanks

sam

What exactly is it you want to order, I've just ordered a new distributor cap and rotor arm through Nissan and all I needed were the part numbers which are on one of the stickys on the maintainance forum.

thanks for the reply but i would just like to know a little more about the engine numbers for the mo as the parts dont really matter at the moment

Agreed. - Looking at my block though, it just says SR20 and the rest is blank.... so that's what the logbook says too.

The Chassis number will be something like RNN14001234 (well, a 1990 shell would be that low); that's 11 letters and numbers (and it stamped in the chassis and on the VIN plate).

You'd be better off taking the advice already offered, and just giving them Nissan part numbers; they can almost certainly find them in the system... and we can almost certainly generate them if you need them.

oki thanks just the french way of doing things an they dont have a clue what they are doing then lol

thanks for all your help

Only jap ones are RNN14s

Europe is something like jn1egnn14uoxxxxxx

Check the engine, somewhere it has 54c on it. I can't remember where though.

PS I think the UK Gti was a 2.0 sr20.

From the information I have on engine numbers SR20101***A and and SR20109***A were used in R's built in December 1990.

As you engine number is sr20-103854A I would think it was built around the same time.

And as already stated, SR20 does dictate that the engine is a 2.0L engine and the A configures it as a GTI-R engine.

If it was any other SR20 it would end in a different letter, as in B.

If you want the chassis vin number it is stamped onto the firewall behind the plenum chamber just to the left of middle of car.

This number will give more information that can be checked against Nissan Fast as to date of manufacture and other configurations.
