Loud clicking from the dashbord

Hi all, I have a problem/question for the GTi-R guru's ;-)

My car hasn't been running smoothly in a while, and yesterday I had a drive exploring with the Apexi Power FC. I have two setups for driving; A and B (1,0 bar boost and 1,5 bar boost)

When I first checked the setup (just started the car) no setup was chosen and the boost was set at 0,65 bar. The ignition was set at 0 (zero) which is the default setting, and some input datas had ** instead of figures.

Question 1: Can this mean that the ECU was in some sort of default or "emergency" mode?

I chose the "A" mode which means 1,0 bar boost, and the car ran more smoothly and I was able to rev it up to 7000 rpm without any backfire or similar. I checked that I was getting signals from all the sensors, and they all were in place.

I then observed the map tracer (someone else was driving the car!) but I'm no expert at it so I didn't really know what to look for

BUT; when I tryed to accelerate fast, I started to hear a loud clicking sound from under the dashboard (or the engine compartment on drivers side LHD), it was clicking ~8-10 clicks per second.

So, here's question 2: What was this loud clicking sound??

I checked the Power FC afterwards, and the car was still in mode A.

I may be off here, but it's not the boost controller solenoid you're hearing? (If you have that).

When I installed mine I found out that the rubber pads meant to go between it and the body wasn't for saving the paint.. it was clicking like nuts. I'm used to it now, so I don't mind it. But if this is _new_ behaviour, something else might be wrong.

Yes I believe I have one.

Come to think about it, it was hanging loose before and I first noticed the clicking after I fastened it
But I have no rubber piece between it and the body, I will put some between and we'll see if it changes anything.

Thanks for the tip, Trond
