May take mine off to as worried that iam runing a huge pro race fmic of ju5ty 500bhp monster is its going to be to big for my hybrid t28 and cause loads of lag

Intercooler size has no bearing in deciding if you want to remove the BOV or not.
And Yes, a huge FMIC will cause loads and loads of laaaaaag. Bigger is not always better (in this case).

If it leaks under pressure, it will take you more time to reach a certain boost figure. So the simple answer is YES
