Very Dodgy

surely if the insurance company finds out you would be fcuked...... whats the point in even getting insured on that as a 1.4; if you hit someone and they find out then you're screwed. Just as bad as some c**k who has no insurance at all really.

no, im sure this car had a ga14de engine put in it after the original sr20 blew up, so the new owner has converted it back to a 2.0 litre turbo.

looks like very rough though

How would he have converted the body to fit the 4wd system.. I always thought the rear was very unique to the Gtir

I wouldn't pay too much attention to what the log books say; we all know that the DVLA are lazy barstewards and will put anything down. - If it has the ATTESA installed, it's a GTi-R that had a smaller engine in it... and if it doesn't then it's not AWD!

I wonderd if this would pop up again.

ITS STOLEN/RINGER etc 99% sure its the same car I looked at a year ago. I've seen this with my own eyes, went to look at it with a mate and was told to go to a garage in the middle of New Addington Council Estate we were then met by two very dodgy looking chaps and one look at the car we left. obviously some other poor fool brought it off ebay and is now stuck with a hot car.

It even has jap stickers under the fuel cap that no UK sunny would ever have. The chassis is all stock gtir, no welding, nothing. There was dirty oil/grease all over the vin plate that i wiped off and you could clearly see something was wrong.

Again im 99% sure its the same car.

I reckon it was stripped of engine etc and converted to sunny running gear to sell on (to that guy) it appears it was once a proper RNN14, and imported 2005.

The engine is a 1392cc petrol.
VIN Code: RNN14-005161

[engineSize] => 1392
[dateOfFirstRegistration] => 20050301
[manufacturedYear] => 1991

As for the white one I'm as sure as I could be. It didnt seem that long ago that I saw it. The guy who owned it at the time gave some excuse that he couldn't tax it or something. I can't remember why.

I can see them both because I'm like Martyn and on both forums.

Yes, in August he says he has a GTi-R with a 1.4L lump in it because the SR20 was shot... and Martyn asked what car he'd bought. ;-)

He (or his brother aparantly) sold it on in mid-October.

January this year, he's got his GTi-R up and running.

I think that the one for sale might just be all the parts he didn't want/need from building his car up. - It doesn't quite add up, you're quite right.

Ok well I don't really want to get involved or stir it up or anything. I don't have any proof of what I saw (reg/chassis num etc).

Just to anyone going to look at this double check everything, if it looks dodgy it probably is, but same should be said for buying any car.

smells funny
as edd asked me about this car at the time he looked at it
someone go look at this white one and see if its got a gtir floor pan as the drivers footwell has a bulge for the transfer box and also there would be loads of welding in the boot floor

and the umbrella hole of course
