got some sparco bucket seats and using the fixed side mounts with them.
people that have used these, did you weld bars onto the floor to bolt the mounts to?
pics would be good.

make sure you over-engineer them,

a rally driver died last year when his seat mounts came away from the floor in an accident.

I mounted my bucket seat as low as possible on the side mounts. I actually had to grind a little bit off from the front of the side mounts to clear the front lip of the seat. As far as i can tell they are a little lower than standard. Bear in mind that the seat i have has no cushion to allow for a lower position.

this is my seat with the cushion (marked with C) removed

I am 6ft with a 32" waist and my ass literally fit like a drawer in it. My feet are postioned good. Since i will be strapped in with a 6point harness, the steering with quick release is still a little far for my likings, I am considering getting a deep dish steering wheel with smaller diameter to get it closer to me and to clear my knees. The gear stick is pretty much out of reach. I will either fabricate an extension to get it closer like so http://www.vw-online.co.uk/acatalog/bay_shift_extension.jpg , or fabricate from top to bottom a new one.
