hi nick.i know someone that will rebuild your engine for about £600 give or take a bit. thats to take the engine out, apart, rebuild, re-fit and get it running again. thats without machinig and parts but he could sort that out too. he isnt far from you or red reading and is red readings friend. also has a low loader so could collect the car. he is VERY GOOD at what he does. do you want me to pm you his number?

I paid £550 labour only for full bottom end rebuild. Not including machining or any parts.

that is mega cheap, we charge between £400-600 labour only to rebuild which is going rate! so basically your getting engine removed and fitted free of charge

does he warranty the engine too?

Maybe not... I think Bob's already got plenty of parts; it might get a new engine and be up for sale relatively quickly as a whole car.

Thanks for the advice Bob, i went over to see my friend and he has promised that we will get the bloody thing out and stripped on 22nd November.

So i can get it down to HT howards in slough. (should be fun as i have no car, plan is to put it on a trolley and take it on the train)

The only thing that's given me the motavation to keep going is the other 20 odd parts i forgot to list and the cost of the lot. ie: New water pump, rear arches, alternator and so on.
