5V feed

Before i turn myself into and electronic junkie and transistor freak, is there a place where i can slice in a +5volts feed to power up a MAP sensor ?

The GM type MAP which is used in my aftermarket ECU's such as AEM, Motec, Haltech, Apexi ect all use a GM rebranded sensor and need a 5V feed. I am talking about the 1 to 3 bar MAP sensor, not sure if the big brother 5bar sensor works the same.

The max output is 5volts too.

If you are despirate for a 5v feed you could dismantle a car USB charger and permanently wire in as they are 5v.

that sound like a real junkie. I was hoping to get away wiring up a voltage regulator (LM78M05) and heat sinking it.

TPS :) that is sure a 5volts sensor. thanks.. How didn't i think of it before. :doh:

I will have to keep a monitor on the voltage drop and the impact of drawing extra current from the ECU's 5v feed. I am sure that if the Volts supplying the TPS lowers, so will the TPS output, which i am sure won't be healthy.

Doesnt you aftermarket ECU have a 5v outlout, i know my Link G3 does, and I would have thought most of them do ?
