Pulsar shell with GTi engine

Hi everyone,

Just wondering if this would work and if someone has done this in the past. Doubt it very much though.

As road rallying rules go, your not allowed to run cars that have a Turbo or more than 6 cylinders. All apparently to do with noise. Now, some Scooby have appeared using the 2.5 N/a out of a Legacy. Would this work if you stuck a GTi engine in the Pulsar shell? What mods would need to be done to get it up to around 200BHP?

Thanks,
Rob

Wouldn't be for just the track.Would be a proper rally car that I would probably get RAC Logbooked like the Sunny I've got now. Can someone confirm 100% the SR20De would fit straight on?

Shirley the SR20DE will mate up with the GTiR running gear?

"i am being serious. And don't call me Shirley"

I would say that if it works when fitting an SR20DET to an Almera gear box, i would be very surprised if it didn't work in reverse.

Why are you going with the heavy* pulsar? why not get a nice light 106gti or mk2 golf that will be perfect. or is it just the 4 wheel drive system that your after?

After the 4WD system.......LSD's seem to cost a fortune for the SR20 FWD gearbox....Just looking at some ideas.

i would stick with the 2wd car its lighter and less power loss.

gti had a very sucessful career in rallying, gtir didnt!

i would bite the bullet and buy a diff, or try the cheaper option of a phantom grip
