finaly bought my R. few questions about its mods

im well happy with this machine and its so good to be back behind the wheel of 1. few things i need to know about the mods as i only had a standard one a few years ago,
q1.its fitted with a HKS EVC IV and im not sure how it works and how to use its features. i know that one of the buttons changes the boost setting to 1.00 and 1.20 on the boost.thats about all i know about it.ha ha
q2. it also has the APEX SAFC fitted and i have been told its not set up. how can i tell if its doing what its ment to be doing? also what are the features for this gadget.
q3.in the folder full of info its says its got a unichip fitted with a re map. would you suggest getting it on the rollers on a re map to see if my fueling is still bang on?
q4. only noticed today that the gauge that displays the fuel rating,i e LEAN, OPTIMAL AND RICH is displaying rich when on gas but when you let off and coast it goes in between optimal and lean. is this correct?
sorry if i come across as a bit dumb but im not to up on modding the R.. all your feed back would be great.thanks ste

hello mate and welcome to the site etc.

your safc alters fuelling by fooling the ecu with different values:)
its a way of adjusting the fuel map without an aftermarket ecu
you say it also has a unichip? if thats the case you dont neeed both:-o
it sounds like you need to determine for sure if it definitely has the unichip and if so decide which one to use and i would recommend getting it checked out on the rollers before the possibility of any damage occurring:doh:

i have a funny feeling the unichip has been removed so he can put it on another car. thats why the apex safc is not set up. not good! will i damage my engine driving it on standard boost?

sorted. gonna get it checked out. im based in lancs. wheres the best place then? tdi north or race line in halifax?
