i doubt it comes with the software for a start, im sure the cable will work though and there are apps such a ECU talk which are free to download and use.

only down fall with the one I got you need a usb -> serial converter (which I already had)

i got a blatz cable mate. was about 80 quid but is good for monitoring and diagnostics though.

running a nistune system now though, much much better.

Ok i got this one today and your bloody right, no software included, funny that! iv emailed him and he sent the software via email but, funnily enough it still wont work as the system wont recognize the hardware! It came with the usb -> serial converter so just waiting for him to get back to me with the correct driver hopefully!

the TECU software shown in the pics is freeware (but has not been updated since '06)

the PCMSCAN software shown is commercial software ($100 US)

and is only for OBD-II cars, and the seller should not be displaying it
(the gtir, and all other 90s nissans have a nissan-only consult port, which is based on OBD-I)

that consult cable is a mess :)

I got the Blatz and it works a treat, you also get the nissan datascan software etc so its a complete package no hidden costs.

It costs more up front than the others but it seems there is less hassle with this one. They were pretty helpfull to when i had a few queries.
