Road tax exempt - how old?

Just wanted to know old does a vehicle
hav to be, for it to not need any road tax?

im pretty sure its not twenty five yeasr, they have to be registered before august 1973 iirc, when the tax exemption was introduced it was twenty five years, but unless before 1973 unlucky, ive got a mini thats a month too young , gutted

Yip John is right as I to Had a mini that was just a month outside of being tax exempt.

The amount of people that would say "Must be nice not to have to pay tax being over 25 years old" and then me explaining that I did have to...over and over....
