Hi all
Just a side question highly related to GTI-Rs but moreso about cross-over parts from the Primera P12 SR20VE 20V.
The Primera P12 has an aluminium bracket for securing the air-conditioning compressor to the block, which amazingly mounts in exactly the same position as the heavy steel one on the GTI-R.
So, the reason for asking about this is that the Primera bracket is signficantly lighter then the R bracket, being for the iR = 9.62 lbs (4.36 kgs) and the Primera = 3.1 lbs (1.4 kgs), so a weight saving of 6.52 lbs (2.96 kgs).
Now being in sunny Australia, many of us iR owners have functioning air-conditioning in our iRs, and as you know any weight saving is a bonus.
So I was wondering how hard it would be to source these from breakers in the UK, as I have been looking for some time on on the forums and on ebay and not seen any listed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated in relation to accessibility, cost to buy, shipping cost etc.
