oxygen sensor

hi guys, just noticed while putting my turbo elbow back on thats its fitted with a ford oxygen sensor with whats looks like a proper adapter for the loom, so was just wandering what benefit there would be if any from using it, its bigger on the thread diametre so the plug has been re- tapped to suit or maybe a new boss has been used. any views much appreciated.

It's probably cheaper or easier to get hold of, and that's about it.

its got four wires coming off it, ones not being used but theres no red wire ?

sounds like standard 4 wire zirconia lambda.

zirc wont work, will get blown apart by turbo, and wont work full stop. they are different types. u need titania, red wire, more expensive.
