My GTi-R engine is placed in a 1992 Nissan NX1600 (100NX) so there are a few things that may not fit with your Pulsar GTi-R. I'm also located in Canada, so may refer to vendors that you don't often use. First of all I got a VRS stainless steel 3" cat back exhaust, including a Magnaflow oval muffler and a magnaflow cat for my NX. This replaces my custom 2" stainless exhaust that I had for years with my 1.6 litre engine - it was restricting my 2 litre turbo somewhat.
Then there's the issue of restriction from the turbo with the cast turbo outlet.
So I went to my friend Aaron's shop Weir-Tech Inc (Aaron is the artist who created all of Will Chan's plumbing for his twin charged Honda!) and he's building me a custom one-piece downpipe - divorced wastegate - with a 3 inch flow.
As the car will never have AC we were able to select a nice long curve rather than the OEM drastic direction change. The one piece design also allows for the wastegate discharge to re-enter the exhaust well away from the turbo. The car spends a lot of time on the track but still is on the street, so an open wastegate was not an option.
Initially Weir-Tech was going to build me a completely OEM direct fit replacement, so if you're looking for that it's possible, but for my purposes this is absolutely the way to go.
I hope that you enjoy this.
