Non R related. Fiesta steering gone all wonky

On the way home from work today my fiesta steering got bloody heavy and when I turn corners the steering won't self center. E.g If I go around a roundabout I have to yank to wheel to the left to get the steering to straighten up after getting around the roundabout. Anyone here mechanically minded know what I'm on about?

I've already had constructive ideas, like scrap it, so none of that!

My neighbours are gonna love the R starting up 6am tomorrow.

Sounds like a steering rack problem to me. I had this problem on one of my old astra gte's.

Bloody Fords

Sorry dude, I didn't know where else to post. I need my furryesta for work. Hate driving nissan to work, wakes everyone up in street and I get to work quicker in fiesta cos I screw the pants off that thing.

cheers though, sounds like the right answer.

Nah, I just have no respect for the fiesta. Fly over speed bumps. The roads are shite around here so I find myself crawling to work in the gti-r.
