Recieved it on monday and its gettin fitted as I write this :D

Thought I'd put some pics up so you can all see the kit and what it comes with incase anyone's interested in it. I got it from SRB Power (BIG thanks to Dan for it and keepin me informed) and as far as I could find before I ordered it, they wip the floor with any other price I've seen for the kit.

Mine is the kit WITH the upper mounts 8)

twaat!!!

I think the link to my albums is:

www.fotki.com/krissj/

I've got em fitted now anyway and I'm very impressed n I haven't even had the 4 wheel alignment done yet (can't get it done till next wed :( )

There are 27 adjustments, not 16 as Tein say and they go from feelin like solid concrete as suspension to like theres no dampers at all :? The settins seem pretty gradual as well so a bit of tweekin once its set up should get it perfect. Dunno how low the kit goes in mm but I've got it as low as it'll go, which comes to just above the top of the tyre. It looks class!

Very impressed, very pleased!!! :D 8)

1st 1 in the UK, oh yes :p

yeah, if there any thing like the tein HA'S then yes there are more then 16 clicks but there is only actualy 16 real adjustments, on the tein ha's you turn all the way clockwise, which is then on full hard, and each click back from that is an adjustment, but do not go anymore then 16 clicks back, from full clockwise, as anything past that, can do extreme damage to the coilover, well thats what tein say anyway.

Seems a bit stupid to me for them to put those extra clicks on if it can do damage :?

It's as low as it'll go and tbh it doesn't look anywhere as low as I thought it would. Does anyone have 17s, 205/40 tyres and standard suspension? If you do can you measure the height of your car (from the ground to a particular point at the front and back) so I can compare to see how much my car's lowered by?

On the hardest settin its like someone's replaced the suspension with concrete! I've currently got it set 15 clicks back from the hardest and it seems to be good but I'll have to wait till wednesday when I get the alignment done, then I'll have a proper play to see what works best. If you wind it right round anti-clockwise so its as soft as it'll go it feels like theres no damping at all. Obviously the springs are still hard but it wallows round corners n bounces everywhere.

Like I said, my alignment still needs doing but it handles very well at the moment and much prefers going fast than slow (where it crashes a bit over bumps n man holes, but then its to be expected). I can't help feeling that some progressive springs or helper springs could make the kit more ameanable at low speeds n it could then even absorb smaller bumps n dips a bit better at higher speeds.

They're my initial impressions. At the moment I'm very pleased n am lookin forward to gettin the geometry set up properly so I can have a good tinker with the damping settings.

on my old R I fitted DMS motorsport coilover struts and set it as low as it could go, it got a small pic in Fast Car when they turned up at Boxhill meet with a caption "Is this the lowest in the country?" :D

mine was so low that it just bottomed out when it went on the Powerstation rollers at a rolling road day with the club a few yrs back.

My advice would be not too have it as low as it will go, as you may hit probs like not getting it on the rollers and may have probs with clearance when you cane it thru the lanes

I cant remember what mine was lowered by, but it could have been 100mm or more (couldn't even get a jack under it!!) I then raised it so it was 70mm lowered (I think) and set the camber at front to 2deg negative with neutral toe and the rear to 1-1.5deg negative, this was a total go kart as some of the other owners would testify!!

Good luck, but just remember mega low may not be best performance for the road!!

The thing is it doesn't actually look that low. The arches come to just above the top of the tyres. Thats why I want someone to measure their ride height so I can compare. It doesn't actually have to be someone with std suspension either, just someone that knows exactly how much theres has been lowered by and has 17s with 205/40s.

Even with the damping set as soft as it'll go it only rubs now and again on the front at the passenger side and that's only cos the arch is all bent in after some stupid biatch decided to pull out on a dual carriageway when I was 1/2 way past overtakin her n ran into me

I can get over speed bumps n that fine as well.

I can't get any pics at the moment as I don't have my car. She's poorly so I've taken her to the car doctors

I need to pop down there later though so I might be able to get a pic then.

The lowering range of the kit is for the front -17mm to -45mm and the rear -10mm to -45mm this is over the standard ride hight with thoes poxy standard 14" alloys this is what Tein told me when I contacted them.

cheers, that'll explain why it doesn't look that low then.

tbh though, that's only a range of 28mm front and 35mm rear. Although I didn't measure it, there looks to be a lot more than that on the threaded part of the dampers. On top of that, most of the super street kits for other cars can lower upto 80mm or 120mm so 45mm seems pitiful.

Ah well, it looks quality anyway and I spose its the handlin that I want at the end of the day :D

If you want it lower and legal get some shorter springs and fit some helper springs and seats to them that way you can go much lower but the springs won't fall out when the car is jacked up etc

Cheers. I had actually thought of that but I've spent so much money on the kit I don't have any money left now :( It's low enough like, just not as low as I 'thought' it would be considering its on the lowest setting. 45mm will do me, it seems about right for the car as far as looks, handling and clearance over speed bumps, rough roads and ramps go.

Or just get some smaller wheels, you'll be shocked just how high a R on 17's stands next to one on 15's
