fitting an EGT

got my new egt just before xmas, and now need to know which cylinder typically gives the hottest reading so i can put the probe into that section of the manifold, or doesnt it really matter :?:

Im sure i heard somewhere that generally its either no 2 or 3 that gets hottest but is that true :?:

the one furthest from the plenum inlet iirc.

mines just after the turbo so i can monitor how hot it gets rather than the engine.
