I went to the Jap racers day at Shakespeare Raceway today. I only did 3 runs, screwed the first, thought I had some clutch slip on the 2nd and nailed it on the 3rd run.
Result........................12.43s at 109.8mph

All from 0.9bar boost. :lol: ( I turned it up slightly yesterday)

Thats a good time and terminal mate.....especially considering your 60ft time, sounds like theres a lot of potential there.

my gf met a nice polite young man today who introduced himself as your stepson Fastguy :)

they had a chat about the cars there and then he just happen' s to drop in a comment that you run 1/4' s in the same time as me using far less power...mmmmmmmm you cheeky fooker! :wink: :lol: thats no fair dude you have lots more experience than me you old git! :lol: she did say she stuck up me though, bless her :D

besides the day you hit a 116mph terminal in your R with the boost levels/ turbo your running i' ll suck my own shlong :lol:

shame i missed you/him i was hoping to say hi :(

I went from 13.08 to 12.7 with NO more power. :wink: Just 50kg less and smaller tyres on lighter wheels. That was done on exactly the same spec as I rolling roaded at 246bhp last year.

I went to a 12.4 with about 1.45psi more boost and obviously a good run :p

On the 12.4 it was holding 0.9bar under full throttle. When it was rolling roaded it was showing about 0.8bar under full throttle. So going on that I don't think I have anymore than 255ish 260max bhp :wink:

Speed wise, the weight reduction and smaller tyres put my speed upto 104mph with poor traction on the start at York. Good traction at Avon raceway put it up to 107, the extra boost put me up to 109 :wink:

It's only holding 0.9bar on full throttle at the revs I go up the strip at, ie 7500 changes. If you accelerated from low revs (when my clutch wasn't slipping) it'll make about 1bar (peak) but won't hold it for the revs I use.

Don't forget I also have a close ratio gear box, so I'm using the power band 5 times not 4 like everyone else.

If you look at my torque curve, you can see where the boost is falling off after 4500rpm

Yes, as of 2 weeks ago. That was run on 0.8bar, but I doubt the torque curves shape will have changed much, maybe just moved up slightly. :wink:

still think your got more power.


my brother got 207 bhp twice in a row @ PTS pulser shoot out, then with out touchin the car run 3-5x 12.8@ 104 mph ish @ the pod a couple weeks later.


we dont know wot coursed the low power, but guess it was the det sensor playin up.

1) I have now. I've turned it up to 1bar, but went slower yesterday than on 0.9bar :lol: The conditions were appalling tho and I ran 10 12s runs.

2) det sensor sounds good. 12.8 on 207bhp would need less weight than I have. :p (1140kg yesterday)
