Fan override?

yesterday i was sittin in some heavy traffic for quite a while and it was a really hot day, i noticed my temp guage was almost at the top and then i seen white smoke trickle out of the passenger side of my bonnet. i slapped the heaters on full and thankfully traffic started moving again and within 2 minutes the gauge had dropped right back down to low again and gave me no more problems.

im just wondering is there some way of overriding the normal fan controls? so that i can keep them on full spin when im sitting in heavy traffic?

my current set up is using a Forge FMIC. any help would be greatly appreciated.

the fans should come on on there own when it gets to a set temp i would be lookin at why they didnt! shouldnt make any difference how long its stationary! maby you got a faulty temp switch!

You could hard wire a switch to your dash...

or

You could just use one of these...
