Hi guys im wondering if you can answer the above question!

I have done a search which yealded very few answers, most seem happy with b&m etc, but i remeber hearing that they may cause a problem or is this just a load of rubbish.
My car runs just under a bar of boost gearbox feels fine.

Any help is much appreciated.

its not the short shifter that breaks the box, its the driver!
you will tend to drive far more aggressively with a short shift (especially on track) i was advised by a gearbox builder to remove it, but i havent yet.

the problem is third and fifth are very close, and if you are racing and miss third and go into fifth, then you get over excited and tend to force back into third, then crunch big wear or broken box!

you will also tend to try and change gear quicker and less smoothly with one of these kits fitted, afterall thats why you fitted it, isnt it?

I just ran a search on the subject, but nobody seems to answer the question, there is just speculation and theory.
These are the most relevant threads that I found:

General concensus seems to be that there are rumours that they can destroy your box, but there is nothing to back it up.
I can only think that you'll have less control due to the shorter movement, which will encourage poorer gear changes.

I personally wouldn't bother :-D
