Car runs bad, fault code 34

Our new UK imported GTI-R runs real bad and we would need some help:oops:

It runs rich and missfires on idle, when driving and gettin some boost pressure it
"cuts" real bad.

We did a faultcode check in Sweden with a instrument and got the fault code 34, what is that?

Thanks

Did a new fault code check and got the code 34 detonation sensor

Can the detonation sensor cause our problems? When you give full gas the car just "cuts" like it got no fuel and the igniton heavy missfires.

How will the car run when det sensor is broken?

Cheked the exhaust values and the HC was 2000 on idle:doh: an lambda 1,5
maybe that is another problem with the F***ing car?

Thanks

Normally the DET sensor retards the ignition and drops boost by about 2psi. It tends to feel slower than normal.

Check your O2 sensor maybe. 2000 is very high.
Also check out the AFM as it can cause alot of running problems or maybe a boost leak somewhere (split or even disconected hose)

It could be worth looking at the plugs/leads/rotor arm and distributer cap. They may cause your misfire.

did some more testing today.Find out that it runs fine when it´s cold, when the temp meter starts rising it starts running like shit but the tempmeter never rises higher than a 1/4 of the temp meter(about 60 degrees)

Could it be the engine temp sensor thats wrong?

hmmm

Doesn't the fault code show when the sensor has completely stopped working? If it's faulty i.e not working properly then I don't think a code woould show up would it? Could be wrong.

If the Det. Sensor is broken (as we get the faultcode 34) can that cause the problem we have?
