....check and see which wire to the alternator connector is live and which is negative?

The connector got broken the last time I had the engine out and I put spade connectors on instead. Im trying to get hold of a new one.

Is the live wire at the top or the bottom? Im not sure but I think this could affect if the alternator gets its signal to start charging. Due to it being DC and all.
