can a bosh 044 fuel pump be fitted in tank?

hi, i am going to replace my walbro fuel pump with a bosch one...don't know if i should go for the 040 or the 044 pump...
the 040 is for external use,but looking on the net i have found that it can also be fitted in tank....
the 040 is for intank application, but seems to have less flow...
is it dangerous to fit a 040 pump in tank?

osch 044 can be mounted in tank and will flow enough fuel for around 550-600bhp

where can i find an inlet filter for the 044?
