As above want to find out the exact age of my car i spoke to the dvla and they can only tell me it was first registered in the uk which was november 2000! is there a way to find out the detail of when it was first registered/made in japan? Also would be really keen on traceing the history of the car from previous owners i know a guy call kev used to own it he was from down south! sure his forum name was kev-gtir or somthing along those lines!

yeah thats the one m8 he did comment on the mods forum said he had the other spare key and alarm fob but he never got back in touch with me after that. looks a dame lot tidyer there than when i recieved it! I was told he sold it too his m8 and a brought it off him will be back to its former glory soon tho! still would like to know too find out the exact gae of the car.

Yeah he sold it on and not sure what happened after.
He got a better spec and well known black one, and this grey one was second best so sold I believe.

If you've got the chassis number you can work-out the date it was manufactured (and which plant it came from). - From memory anything less that RNN14-0005xxx is Phase I Series I.

This was when that reg number was registered, the dvla has only told you when the car was registered in the UK after being an import.

That'll be when they were made I guess as mines in the first batch but is July 1992 registered.

Can't tell you exactly when it was built but the best I can work out is that it was built late on Wednesday 30th January 1991 and the model number EBYNRVFN14TDALJ--A suggests it is a 'domestic local' model. All that means is that there is no special aftermarket fitments.
And the thing about the seat belts is if they are standard they have a manufacturing date on the little white tag as well, at floor level, assuming they are original.
