5 Door GTiR project???

Hi guys,I'm after some opinions and advice.
I had a strange idea last night for a proper sleeper...
Has anyone taken a 5 door Sunny saloon and 4WD'ed it??
Is it possible with floor plans, what would need to be done??
At the moment I have 2 shells one of which I'm gonna clean up and fit my engine and box etc from my ivory R. And I'm not sure the Ivory is saveable so I have a spare shell to play with.
Opinions please :)

Yes and no. - There are AWD Sunny's in continental Europe (as above), but it's definitely not the same floor pan as the FWD versions.

If you're up for the fabrication work, you could cut-out and install a new tunnel for the transfer case, drive shaft, and rear diff. I'm not sure, but suspect you'd need a custom drive shaft since the wheelbase is different.

What might be more of a sleeper is an AWD 5-door Sunny or Almera hatch-back. - That may be a better fit in terms of the running gear you've already got too.
I think there's a guy who did it not so long ago; Scott D? - He's around the North West somewhere because I've seen him at Oulton Park and he seems to know Channy.

If you've got serviceable parts from the Ivory shell when you take it apart, they might be useful to keep mine on the road. ;-)

Yeah I know Scott, he's one of my gf's mates from channys octane junkies club and yeah he had an almera which he fwd gtir'ed.
I was after something different,so do any saloon models share the same wheelbase and I'd need it to be a rhdmodel.

And I don't mind chopping the transmission tunnel from the ivory shell. Is the rear subframe mounting points the same so I could drop one and fit the other?
I neve knew there were awd non GTiR shells?

For a sleeper, but a standard bonnet on the car and you will own an early 90's sh*tbox that no one recognises and thinks is a golf :)

Nah, I'd just have 2 GTiR's. now 5 doors and a boot would be a proper sleeper.
So anyone know of any problems of fittings?
Are the wheelbases different? Mounting points the same etc?

Me and Martyn looked at rasheen a a few years ago but decided you would look a complete cock in one and it would have no benefit in doing the conversion as the under pinnings and there for geometrys are the same as the pulsar, better off looking for a sunny sedan 4x4 or primera 4x4 to do as then you will have a longer wheel base and a more stable car in the sunny's case or in the primera you will have a lot better suspension geometry and similar suspension set up to the btcc touring cars.....and they did handle very well.

Unusual and awsome the primera, if you were a dab hand with a welder the primera is basically the gtir back end in the primera chassis, just food for thought.
