I've just got a new set of 4 braided brake hoses but comparing them to the 2 Goodridge ones I have they are made for a different flare on the brake pipe. Right one's convex and left one's concave, so one of them is wrong.
I bought some last year advertised as Gtir oe quality. Delphi part numbers TC846 and TC847 but cross checking them today they don't come up as Gtir arms.
Now the rad, turbo and manifold have to come off as well. Given 2 of the 4 bolts to get that off were solid and rounding off every time I looked at them, it could be fun.
I thought the flexi joint on my exhaust had gone again (like it did on the mongoose) but having just had a look underneath the flange on my CES downpipe where it joins the intermediate pipe has completely detached at the weld. So instead of a quick 10min job to get the intermediate pipe off to...
I've just been recovered by the RAC.......the alternator's gone. They put a fully charged battery (with a jump lead on the earth as the battery terminals were the opposite way round) to get me home.......just.
Where's the best place to get a new one (quickly) and what sort of price are...
Is it just there to stop you putting the wrong nozzle and hence fuel in or is it a seal as well?
The reason I'm asking is that I just filled up and found mine sitting at a 45degree angle waiting to drop into the tank, it's now inside the car. I'm hoping no one has been interfering with it...
Just remembered to check my lights for tomorrows MOT and my hazards are only working on one side. Anyone had this before? Indicators work as advertised.
I'm going to have to try and wing it tomorrow by putting the left indicator on at the same as the hazards.
Just short of 2 years and maybe 5000miles and the clutch is slipping under full throttle in 5th at about 4500rpm. So much for the Helix organic coping with 339lbft torque.
Where can you get RPS plates from? I couldn't find them when I looked to replace the friction plate last time.
With the new MOT regs on balljoint dust covers (failure now if missing/split) I found some covers on ebay which is cheaper than replacing the whole balljoint.
Has anyone got a balljoint handy where the could measure the top and bottom holes and the height of the boot?
BTW, are our ball...
Are these type of hose clamps ok on the fuel system?
I've got some screw up ones on at the moment but they won't fit the replacement hose very easily if at all and I've a couple of the above clamps spare from an air hose. (It's one of those one handed tight space jobs, ie down the side of...
Anyone got a picture of the alternator in situ, preferably side on. I just want to make sure I'm not missing any bits and that I've put the tensioner side back together correctly after it decided to come undone and throw the belts.
Mine is very loose and looks like it's going to fall out.
I only had time for a very quick look as I was on my way out, but couldn't tell if it was a push fit or some sort of screw in job.
Has anyone ever done it? I've just had a good look through the service manual and can't find anything about it. The only thing I could find involved adjusting the rods on the throttles. Nothing about vacuum, nipples and screws:?
Do you just want the highest vacuum you can get across all 4...
One of mine is split, so I'm hoping it's the reason for my stuttery running tonight around 3000rpm. Will a bit of hose with a bolt in it work as a temporary measure until I can get a replacement?
Not sure if this is strictly an upgrade, but does anyone know of a larger than standard space saver from another car? Possibly a 16" one that will at least fit over my Godspeed rears. I haven't actually tried my spare, but I'm guessing it won't go over them.
Just found these and they seem dirt cheap. I know you tend to get what you pay for but are they worth it? I don't need any, but someone might. Would these fit non abs cars too...
