Quaife box?

stock box if in good nick will handle 300 odd bhp the whine is probably a dodgy bearing

Launched properly for over two years @ 300bhp even I know pulsar boxes do not last that long in standard trim or do they ?

Well if you have been searching you'll have worked out the Danny (red reading) know what he's talking about when it comes to gearboxes (don't know about anything else mind! :lol:) and you could have asked him

i told him the straight cut gear was reverse which is common knowledge
i said it looked standard to me but couldnt see the pis properly as was on a crappy laptop......ive sold enough quaifes to know what im talking about fella

im no keyboard warrior that i can assure you of.and as said the guy was gonna flog it to me to make a few quid on it but i said i wouldnt buy it untill i knew it was 100% a quaife which it clearlly is not, the sale was between me and him

im just stating what i said yesterday
you or your gf have clearlly been ripped off, if you still believe its a quaife run it up the road to them and theyll just tell you what i and everyone else has said simples


and yep a stock box can last for over 2 years when launched as pal of mine on here has one which i sold him and his cars running 426hp and it still aint broke

If you've believed your so called mate who works at Quaife (maybe just works in packing) then fair enough your not intentionally trying to rip people off but it's a few quid we're talking about here not £50, you should have done more research.

I bought a quaife box off billy in Manchester who is a member here and the modifiers. I didn't check the box with the end case off and was in a bit of a hurry so forgot to get a receipt for proof as well. Now I look back at what I did and don't know why I was such a mong! Am pretty confident it is a quaife though as billy had other high spec parts from the same car and was a sound guy who knew what he was talking about.

There is always going to be a bit of trust required when buying something like this but if I had been told that my box was not a quaife by a specialist, I would remove my advert straight away as I would hate the thought of someone loosing out.

i am not jumping on the band wagon so to speak but a 20 year old box is what it is fact.maybe you got a strong low mileage one or you were lucky there is people running circa 400 bhp on standard boxes inc launches no problems but mine both broke with very little if no abuse at 320 its down to all sorts of reasons and luck plays a big part on a standard box. Now i am NOT saying you did not know but for example i bought this travelled down picked it up travelled home or paid over a grand plus a pallet postage spent a weekend if i took my time fitting it used my car broke the box another day removing it plus oil costs and inconvenience etc.sent it off to get fixed paid again for carriage to receive a call saying its standard which would put in my mind is where i have sent it lying and ripping me off then they charge for there time and i would need to pay to get it back you add that up. i would not write what i would do to the seller and i am a nice person. you need to be careful put your self in this position if someone had sold this to you ?
