Y Bracket

Hi guys

I have removed the rear brackets from the engine today. I know that a lot of people remove the Y bracket but if you want to continue to use the TMIC it looks to me as if you need it. In addition it seems a to offer a fair amount of support to the inlet system.

Which is the bit of the bracket that get in the way so bad? I am thinking of cutting it down so I can keep it in but avoid the problems associated with having the bracket in place.

Definitely not required even with a top mount.

It's just over-engineering. - I'm pretty sure it's in the FIA homogulation stuff that it comes out for rally use.

I've never heard of anyone having problems because they removed it .

does it not have to be there for the top mount fixings?

Bin it, the amount of stud and bolts holding the tb on you dont need it.
