1. f***king coooool
2. power station Cheltenham
3. if they are MoTec approved they should be sport on.

Bit of warning. It takes almost a day just for the programming  and then occationaly you will want mods  so another 1-3 hours of setup

BUT it helps produced shheeeed loads of tourque. If you are getting it I would recoment buying loads of upgrades first. Then spend 6 months paying for them so you will need no more setups.

Si.

PS there was a "gang" post formed a while ago search the archives and you will find the list of us all.

yeah I have 48 pro.

I was refering to the fact that if you change any of the engine setup you will most likely have to have the MoTec mapping "tweaked" to get the best out of the mods.

Whats the story with regards running different levels of boost using a motec?

Is there a facility for having different maps built into it? Say one for running 0.9bar perfectly and then another for running 1.3bar perfectly?

Or is it a case of one or the other?

Is the autronics the same basic principle as a motec - ie. a complete ecu replacement?

Has anyone ever tried one on a GTI-R before?

If u go back and look into the history as far as i found and read Motec used to be run and owned by two people. Eventually they split, one carried on with Motec the other brainy one  started Autronic. I dont think u will find many ECU's on the market that are that similar with the same massive price difference!

Right u r Nad,
but having said that MAD want £2200+vat fitted, mapped for Autotronic.
The unit cheap, but they hammer u on all the extra sensors and labour.

I think u will find the Motec is about 4k all in, the Autronic is 2.5k. Check with V, hes still got the reciepts.

Nad,
I can get Motec M48pro fitted and mapped for £2000 to £2200+vat. :D

I thing V paid £2700.

So I guess Motec is a better buy (cold start doesn't bother me/), as it plug and map and if u decide to change car, u can take it with u.

Dos anyone else agree with me :?:

If anyone else wants one let me Know.

Ash yeah I payed £2700 but thats because I got the boost controller
that goes with the motec but you can keep your own 8) .

As for plug and play yes it is if you know what your doing which I don't.

And you can't really take it with you because it replaces you own ecu
and changes the loom to suit, So you have to keep your old ecu safe
and then pay to have it refitted otherwise the car wouldn't work any more.

regards rob.
