in transfer box and gearbox,
if u take a driveshaft out and replace it, some oil will be lost, can you just top gearbox/transfer box up with any new oil??
what grade of oil is best for greabox and transfer box?
are they the same of different grades?
and will my local halfords super stoe have the correct oils??

thanks :p

You can get Castrol Driveline (Syntrax) from Halfords, I put some in mine before I sold it and it made lots of difference to the shift quality. Not sure about the loss of oil after removing a driveshaft though.

If gearbox oil is anything like engine, which it is, you shouldn't mix viscosities/grades. Why not just drain it and fill up with new stuff. Might save you a gearbox rebuilt and is almost guarunteed to make the gearchange etc.. sweeter. :D

gearbox drain is 3/8 and transfer drain is 1/2 and filling point is the opposit
