Whats up with this time ??

Ok after running at the weeked I couldnt get the 60ft time down!!

And after around 90mph the car doesnt seem to gain much speed 24.18mph on the last 1/8th

I guessing the car should be a lot quicker if i'm getting to 116mph ?

Humm need to think what the problem could be...

60ft time is proberly because you launch like a girl :roll: .

I agree you should be getting a better 1/4 time with a 116mph terminal speed :? , Mine got 12.3 with 109 terminal and 1.6sec 60ft time 8) .

Maybe you need a better turbo?. I found that my standard turbo used to run out of puff towards the end of the strip .

Were you driving with the 1.6sec 60ft

Yup I got a 1.6 second 60ft time but with a 12.9 1/4 time 8) , but skiddus got the 12.3 1/4 with a 1.7 second 60ft time .

If you're almost bogging down, then try some more revs. If you're wheel spinning, try setting your suspension to soft (if it's adjustable) or try letting abit of air out of the tyres, or even try some better tyres.
Also make sure you avoid the burn out water or any damp/oily patches on the start line.

I had 2 1.7s and a 1.8 60ft yesterday. I set my Teins to full soft, front and rear and it seemed to take off very well compared to last time when I left them set on my road setting and was wheel spinning a fair bit :?

hi,

your car's showing your got power of about 370-420 bhp, goin by your speeds at 1/8- 1/4.

as sed above its about your launch, even on a badly set up pulser you should be seein 1.8's 60ft if driven hard, (that inc's crap tyres, hard suspension etc etc)

a well set car with that terminal should do 11.5's, and dont forget once you launch it well your terminal will go up by 2-4mph, so about 118-120mph.

If you play around on NisR227s site, it comes up with 350bhp and 1250kg gives a terminal of 117

so a std one wiegh's 1270 ish dry, + stearo, + oil, coolant etc etc, and driver, say 80-110 kg extra in all

= 1350-1380 kg's, try that :lol:

The official figures are 1220 or 1250 depending who you believe. (My RB was 1240 when I first got it, with aircon fitted)

Nisr227s site doesn't need the drivers weight to work it out the times, but he does allow 0.5secs for gearchanges which is farrrrrr too long
