What's this for?

Pipe that leads from power steering fluid resevoir, goes behind the driver's side headlight, under the bodywork and out in front of the rad, where it bends 180 degrees, goes back under the headlight and off into the car somewhere (i'm guessing power steering pump?)

Is it to cool the fluid? or some sort of expansion device? Can i get rid of it? i haven't noticed it on other cars, also wouldn't it interfere with a front mount?

Thanks, puzzled from Manchester...

Yup. Its the power steering cooler pipe.

Some people have had to shorten it when fitting front mount intercoolers, but i wouldn't suggest removing it - Nissan put it there for a reason.

Was the umbrella holder put in for a reason too? Mabe so the WRC drivers didnt get wet if they broke down in the rain?

Cheers! learn summat new every day!

Yes, WRC cars did have an umbrella, but it was an electronic version fitted with variable opening height.
