I have 87mm tomei pistons, PAR rods(so presume still the standard 86mm) and a 1mm tomei hg.Assuming an average skim for the rebuild what would my CR be roughly?I'm thinking high 8's?
When I had my engine built with the same rods and HKS pistons I requested as high a comp ratio as they thought I could get away with so it drove as well off boost as pos, It was after experiencing a 2mm hks gasket being fitted to my old pulsar and just how much difference it made to how it drove off boost.
Not answering your question I know, But I thought it might be an interesting anecdote.
Just been reading a thread about it which also has some infor on turbo a/r's.Gist is that higher CR doesn't lower the revs at which your turbo spools but makes your engine rev faster so timewise(if not revwise) it will spool quicker and make more power for the same boost.
