What RPM do peoples turbos come on boost ??

Was just looking at a post on passionford (i know :doh: ) but there are standard cossies getting full boost, 20psi, by the 2850 - 3250 mark.

Thing is my standard `R` is only running 9psi, and doesnt get full boost till about 3750, which i think is quite high. Do i have a problem, if so what is it?

When does yours come on boost ?

i looked at this the other day and mine is about 4k which is at 1.1 bar
Which I thought was pretty crap too lol

No this sounds normal. The point at which a turbo makes boost is called the boost threshold, and is affected by ignition, cam timings, and obviously the turbo) Its a compromise between responsivness and the ability to efficiently flow high volumes of air at higher RPMs. If you have full boost lower down then your having to make a compromise higher up (put very simply)

when my car was being mapped by Ed i was getting .2bar at 3000rpm and 1.8 by about 3800rpm with my gt3071 according to his laptop:D:D:D

it was still holding 1.6 at the redline btw;-)

im looking forward to seeing how the torque curve looks on a dyno sheet lol

Yes that came in hard for sure. The dyno torque should follow quite similar to the boost curve :)
