Yep, standard boost sensor, normally mounted on the inner wing by the battery.

Only if you feel the ECU should know what boost pressure your running, so it can decide how much fuel to pump in ;-)

Its got nothing to do with the ecu, its just a pressure sensor for the standard boost gauge ;-)
