Does changing the valve stem oil seals mean engine out? :?:

Not sure, but if you can pressurise the cylinder at tdc on the compression stroke (to stop the valves dropping) you might be able to get away with it in situ:?:

not sure how you would get the springs off though without a lever of some sort, the tension on the springs is pretty fierce ! I reckon that even on compression the valve would move long before the spring compressed enough :cry:

I'd say at a guess its a head off job, but not necessarily engine out ( if you can get the head off without taking the engine out :D )

no way will you be able to do in situ mate. head off job!! the springs are recessed so no lever will actually get in there to do the job.

Does anybody know of anyone that has done this before? I don't fancy going head on into this one with my eyes shut! :?

they aern,t to difficult but it involves alot of work, if you done them before then it worn,t be too bad. There are things you need to look out for! shimming/timing chain/etc
