update on my R

hi guys just a quick update as whats happening my R, new gearbox and transfer box arrived on friday all cleaned and looking good, hopefully being fitted this week sometime, was quite lucky with the price in the £395 all inc and 24hr delivery. only prob now is after i have this done (again) i am in to minds as to keep her or pass her on to some else. i love the car to bits when it works lol, i have had her now for bat 6months and since i have bought her it just seems like problem after problem plus seeming as its only done 39k is kinda starting to annouy me. i know these cars arnt easy to run and i use my everyday to and from work plus for social use. or do i keep her and get a luvly ford as a run around. cheers guys

Your best off using the R as a weekend toy and getting a run around, i think thats what the majority of owners do.

i think the run abt idea is good, as i really dnt wana sell her she is such good fun to drive and looks so sexy lol.

so many cheap cars you can pick up as a run around. Would end up saving money in the long term with fuel, servicing etc

I only use mine at weekends never for commuting to work, but im looking at selling it in the next few days so anyone whos interested have a look on ebay this week for a standard Grey R

I managed to get a 98 escort with 60k on it, a/c,c/l,e/w,cd player and alloys for £350! Just have a good look round.

I used to drive 20k a year in my pulsar, but that had to stop. I ended up getting a clio diesel for 400quid. 60mpg and cheap insurance. The money I saved on fuel alone paid for the runabout.

In the end though, I needed more luxury, so now I drive a Volvo S60 D5, with all the toys as my runabout. Picked up for £2500. Bargain.

My Pulsar has always been a weekend toy. I drive over 25k a year so once I gave up my company car I bought a Volvo saloon to cart the family around in and get to work and back. Couldn't imagine driving that mileage in my R, I would break my spine lol
