im putting this up for sale as its way way to good to break! ive been using it daily to and from work with no probs.
basically i bought the car which was in very good original condition, then my neighbour clipped the front end when reversing out his driveway:roll: the car has been deemed a cat D writeoff (not noted on logbook) and no work required to be used on road.

its in perfect condition mechanically and all completely standard with the umbrella and flare still in car, even has the original airbox.
its covered 89,000km and drives faultlessly

bits need doing
there is one bit of rust on the n/s rear arch but the rest of the car is rust free
needs a new bonnet which il supply
needs bumper support bar which il supply

cars taxed till july and tested but i will mot (EXTRA £50) if you want a full years ticket on her.

bargain for someone at £1895 NO OFFERS

how would this stand insurance wise (sorry but never looked at buying cat d write offs before) and future mot wise.

ok in answer to some of your questions

paul....course its black or are you winding me up:doh:

yes the car was deemed a writeoff as it would have required a new bumper, support bar, headlight, bonnet, grille, underlight strip, indicator.
i put the repair invoice in myself to insurance via my other company, using all nissan parts at manufacturers recommended retail price which in turn wrote the vehicle off.

does not take much to write off an old vehicle as im sure some of you are aware!

will not affect the insurance quote on your insurance, neither will it require any specialised mot etc as its been written off due to cosmetic value only.
indeed if i had repaired the vehicle i could have sold it on and no one would have been none the wiser due to it not being registered on logbook, but hey im just being honest here!

The insurance part isnt 100% true Bob, some companies wont insure any cat of write off, they'll issue the policy no bother but if you were to crash/car was stolen they would turn around and say sorry car was previously written off and you never told us and as this is one of our terms were not paying out.

Only some insurance companies do this tho, always best to check the small print!

yes thats true but you would obviously tell the insurance company that the car was a cat D when insuring it otherwise just like any other mod not declared to them, it could possibly invalidate your insurance. but as its only written off due to cosmetic damage (hence being cat d) it should not increase any premium.

jp.... no nothing untoward i just submitted an estimate for repair to my own vehicle with the other garage/ business that i own which isnt unheard of. your quite within your rights to insist that repairs are carried out to your exact requirements putting vehicle back to its pre-accident state and that you trust no one else to carry out those repairs;-)
