Undoing filler plugs

Has anyone got a good technique for undoing the rear axle filler plug?

Mine's seized to the point that the square key was starting to strip the plug's square hole rather than turn it...

I guess a local garage could get it up on lifts and use a long lever. But is there a secret method that works?

(Car is a Nissan Rasheen by the way. The same underneath as a GtiR, pretty much)

make sure you're using the correct square, it's not a 1/2 inch, it's slightly bigger and will help in not stripping.

I have a 13mm plug key but it still seems like hard work! I'll try jacking up the rear of the car and use a spanner/long pipe combination with a short sharp shock.

get a blow torch on it for 5 minutes and heat it up.
will come loose then!

Done, thanks for the suggestions. I sprayed some plusgas on it last night, this morning I jacked the car up and that gave me the leverage I needed. These plugs are tight aren't they!

The axle was a little down on oil too, so I guess it was worth looking at.

Next: the transfer case, but another day.

Today I managed to get the transfer case filler undone - and a fair bit of oil spilled out. I got the car on the level and checked again, and it was still dribbling out.
I guess it was a little overfilled?
