I know the stnadard R manifold is a good manifold, where as the turbo elbow is opposite and restricting. Why is it that the turbo elbow upgrade has not been overcome? Forums usually adress these things. No one seems to be able to help, any ideas?
As most people seem to have mongoose systems anyway they'd be better off with 2.5" as if you put a 3" elbow on a mongoose you'll have a big step in the system where the 2 meet which can't be good for flow.I'd be happy with a 2.5" elbow, but that puts me at odds with almost everyone else who wants 3"
There's no such thing as too big when it comes to exhausts for turbocharged cars. In the ideal world the best exhaust would be to have no exhaust as you want the least backpressure possible after the turbo.the guy that trained me(he is very clued up) recons 3 inch is to big for 3071 turbo to much space for gasses to slow down
if all goes well mabey make some for selling will keep posted8)
I'd agree with that, I had a 3" downpipe going into 2.5" mongoose and as soon as it was changed to all 3" the car pulled a lot better and spooled faster too.Even though 2.5" is more than enough for the power, it just didn't seem to like that step down.As most people seem to have mongoose systems anyway they'd be better off with 2.5" as if you put a 3" elbow on a mongoose you'll have a big step in the system where the 2 meet which can't be good for flow.
Totally agree! What you want a nice big horn on the turbo exhaust haha. There's no such thing as too big when it comes to exhausts for turbocharged cars. In the ideal world the best exhaust would be to have no exhaust as you want the least backpressure possible after the turbo.
