torque question??

what factors do you think would improve the torque of the engine. this is an open question so throw your ideas at me all welcome

longer stroked crank, smaller head ports, more boost, higher compression more ignition advance

As said above, in laymans terms, main ones are more displacement (longer stroke), as much air in the cylinder as possible(more boost) and squeezed into as small as space as possible for bigger bang and ignited late (high compression and advance).

Torque. Where do you want it. If you want it high in the rev range then smaller stroke. As longer stroke motors don’t like to rev as much as short stroke motors. F1 motors make torque high in the rev range due to high bore to stroke ratios. This then lets them make massive power. P=Tw

If you want it low in the rev range(better drivability) then long stroke motors would be better.

If you want a high powered car get it to make torque high in the rev range and power you will have.

(just a different way of looking at it)

Most the stroker kits for the R exceed the standard rev range anyway so on our engines short stroke high rev isnt really relevant.
