A must for long term reliability and reduce load/wear. Short term use, like Bruce's car gets  its up to u.

Emm ok

how about HKS 256/264 cam ?
need it as well ?

i tempted to get rid my HKS and get Tomei cam
since i can get it dirt cheap brand new
but just wondering whether the tomei cam need a lot of stuff to run or not

certain individuals have been telling me i needed titanium retainers for quite a while now.in fact, since i 1st uprated the cams iirc, about 7 years ago and 40k

never worn a camshaft out yet 8)

guess i must just be lucky

Emmm
i still doubt whether i should go to Tomei or HKS

HKS as far .. can retain OEM valvespring so on

but tomei is the concern
i have limited budget but still prefered tomei

but since valve spring and retainer is not cheap , i have thinking twice on it

i can get hks copies for under $500au, try wade cams here in melbourne

they should be able to grind a cam to what ever spec u wish. for about 480ish au.

matt

cheaper than buying the real deal.

have you tried asking piper for a cam as they do all DP's cams,or they used to anyway  just tell them what you want profile wise and if they don't already have it in stock,i'm sure they'll grind you 1

you could always just wait until you've got the required funds and buy the tomei cam, then waste the money on titanium retainers and double springs etc
