Mine have just been done and from what the garage told me they have to fit the cams and go from there, measuring clearances and getting the shims to suit. They can swap the old ones around to a point but you'll inevitably need some new shims and they take f**king ages to come from Nissan.I was waiting 4 months for one  .

you can set the gaps to standard sizes, Should say in the info you got with the cams.

It tells you how to ajust the shims in the manual

The valve clearances must stay the same whatever cams you've installed. These are set by changing the shims. On mine, all the shims had to be changed and either swapped or bought new. Took ages to do right but stopped the top end sounding like a sewing machine. If you adjust nothing and the clearances are out you risk damaging your top end at high revs.
